Ford Models Super of the World Model Canada 2009

Congratulations to Alecsa Nelson for winning the top prize of Ford Models Super Model of the World Canada search. The finale aired on CityTV on September 26th. As many may have recalled, open calls took place this past summer with West Edmonton Mall being one of the locations.

Personally, I was hoping Naomi would win. She probably had the best look out of all the other contestants. However, at the tender age of 14, experience was the biggest downfall. But you know what they say, human years are the equivalent to dog years in the modeling business. With the way Naomi is progressing so quickly, she will be a pro by the time she's Alecsa's age(17).

With reality shows such as Ford Models Super Model of the World Search,America's Next Top Model, and Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency, it gives opportunities for models and potential models to sign with well established agencies. At the same time, those agencies can gain a wider selection of talent and unique looks. ( Now let's all hope the new retirees do not come up with anymore reality tv or talk shows ie. Tyra and Heidi)

So I've discovered some new music of a couple of different genre's I'd like to show you.

First off would be a band called "Passion Pit". They are somewhat of a electronic, somewhat indie band with a sound unlike any other i have heard before. Their lead single, "The Reeling", has a intricate beat and rhythm that truly sets this song apart from the mainstream music. The music video contains very unique cinemetography and editing unlike any I have seen before. Truly a very unique band.

Secondly "Jay-Z" has recently come out with his new album, "The Blueprint 3". One of his up and coming songs from this album has to be "Empire State of Mind". This song contains the smooth rhymes of Jay-Z and the strong vocals of Alecia Keys. This song excellently represents the artist's love of the city of New York. The song contains powerful lyrics and captures your attention from start to finish.
